Thank you for your interest in our
upcoming trip to Costa Rica and Cocos Islands. Although I have
never been to
Cocos, I hear it is another one of THE places to dive before you
die! Recently, I viewed a new Imax presentation of
"The Island of the Sharks" which featured Cocos Island! Watching the
video, I was reminded of the great dives I've done
in the Galapagos Islands, so I'm looking for a repeat of that
type of excitement!
The main part of this trip will be aboard the Okeanos Aggressor. It's a 10 day
total liveaboard adventure with 7 full
days of diving. Typically, I like to do some local touring before
boarding the boat, so although we will be aboard the
Okeanos Nov 3-13, I am looking
into doing a few tours of Costa Rica before Nov. 3. So,
tentatively, I have the trip
beginning on Oct 31. Once I can confirm some neat eco tours
I can confirm the actual date of departure, but no matter what,
we have to be in Costa Rica (San Jose) by Nov 2, so those passengers
not wishing to do any touring can meet us on
Nov. 2, overnight at a local hotel, then board the boat.
As of this writing (Dec 18, 2011) there are no flights published for
November 2012. I did, however, check Jet Blue's flight
schedule through August 2012 and they do have flights NY/Orlando/San
Jose for a bit over $600.00 roundtrip. At the moment,
the projected cost of this trip will be between $5450.00 and
$5800.00. It's a bit more than most of my BIG trips, but we are
spending more time on the boat (10 days vs 7). What we will
include is roundtrip airfare (unless trippers want to do their own
flights), all hotels, all touring, all transfers and of course, the
stay aboard the Okeanos Aggressor.
The Okeanos Aggressor will
hold a total of 22 passengers, 11 staterooms. Like many of my
liveaboard trips, I need to
know well in advance who might be interested in this adventure so I can
cancel some cabins I don't think I can fill
within 9 months of the charter date. So, by the end of January, if you
are interested in joining me on another
"Dream Diventure" please let me know and confirm with a $500, non
refundable deposit. As with all my BIG trips,
I will work out a scheduled payment plan to ease the pain!
Looking at his year's trip log, water temperature was between 79-81
degrees. They saw lots of hammerheads, white tip
sharks, mantas, turtles, dolphins, etc. So this year's same time group
had some real treats! Known for it's marine life and not
corals, Cocos diving is like diving the Sea of Cortez and Galapagos
Islands!
I will post more info as the trip date nears and I have more info on
flights, tours, etc. In the meantime, if you're not one of the
people yet deposit confirmed for this trip, please call or e mail me
and tell me you want to go!
Thank you for your interest in this trip.
Hopefully I'll hear from you soon!
Sincerely,
Capt. Noel Voroba/President/Tour Leader
