TRUK (CHUUK)
LAGOON!

  JANUARY 19-31, 2011

Thank you for your interest in our long awaited return to Truk Lagoon, famed shipwreck graveyard of the Pacific World War II theather! In 1944, the US launched a surprise attack on the Japanese repair facilty in this small group of islands know as Truk. Operation Hailstone saw the sinking of over 50 Japanese ships and planes in this attack and for the last 35 years, divers have been enjoying the incredible underwater experiences these wrecks provide.

Our planned itinerary will include a direct flight from Newark to Honolulu on January 19th. We will stay in Honolulu the night of the 19th, all day and night on the 20th before heading to Truk. While in Honolulu, we will rent a few mini vans to enjoy cruising around the island. For those of you who have never visited the Pearl Harbor war memorial, this is the time to do it!  As an American, it is an awe inspiring experience!

When we arrive in Truk, we will have to overnight at a local hotel on Truk for one night before boarding the "MV Oddysey" on the 23rd.  We will be aboard the "Oddysey" until the morning of the 30th, spend most of the day/early evening at a local hotel before leaving for home. Because of the inernational dateline time/day changes, we will leave Truk around 2am on the 31st, but arrive home on the 31st!

Our flights are as follows:  Airline is Continental

Since many of my clients have frequent flyer miles that can be used or want to use a credit card for air payment, I am going to direct everyone to my booking agent specifically for flight arrangements.  My agent, for just $50, is willing to help you use your frequent flyer points for the flights. I personally will try to do this. May agent is Debie Isroff and her contact information is:

Once I finalize all land and boat arrangements, I will post the final cost of the trip, payable by check or cash to Orbit Marine. I will arrange a payment schedule to spread out payments to ease the pain! Total cost of flights, hotels and week long dive excursion will be in the neighborhood of  $5100-$5300, based on double occupancy at hotels and boat.  All meals and diving on the boat are included.  Additional costs would be food, booze and transportation in Honolulu, tip for the crew ($150-$250) and food, booze while on land in Truk.

At this writing, I only have four spots left! If you are interested in joining us, a non refundable deposit of $500 is required to hold your spot. Please call me at 1-800-395-3483 or e mail me at orbitdive@aol.com for more information.

This is one of the MUST trips in a diver's life! Hope to hear from you soon!
